The DiMarzio Super 2 was developed as the perfect complement to the legendary Super Distortion and impresses with a distinctive tonal character that has been specifically optimised for use in the neck position. Compared to the Super Distortion, the tonal balance is shifted towards a brighter treble range and a tighter bass foundation, resulting in a clearly defined and assertive sound even in the typically warmer-sounding neck position. Guitars with a short 24.75-inch scale length and two humbuckers benefit particularly from the open sound reproduction, whilst instruments with a 25.5-inch scale length gain additional presence and attack. Thanks to its balanced voicing, however, the Super 2 is not only suitable for the neck position but also delivers powerful rock and high-gain sounds with great clarity when played at the bridge.
