Overdrive effects pedal with three clipping modes and a Flexi-Switch
With the Earthquaker Devices Plumes, the American effects manufacturer is launching a JFET-based overdrive pedal whose tube-like drive provides the perfect foundation for inspiring riffs and solos. Based on an analogue JFET circuit with an 18-volt operating voltage, the pedal offers enormous headroom and a dynamic playing feel. Furthermore, this compact effects pedal features three clipping modes for fundamentally different tonal characters. The balanced, LED-based clipping promises maximum gain reserves for a rich, British-style rock crunch, whilst silicon diodes deliver unbalanced clipping with high clarity and harmonic breakdown. Furthermore, the no-clipping mode offers a powerful clean boost. The sound can be fine-tuned using the Gain, Tone and Level controls. Another special feature of the Earthquaker Devices Plumes is the Flexi-Switch, which switches the pedal on and off as usual, but when held down acts as a momentary switch to temporarily activate the effect.
The Earthquaker Devices Plumes at a glance:
Overdrive effects pedal for electric guitar, manufactured in the USA
Analogue JFET circuit with an operating voltage of 18 volts (+/- 9 volts) for increased headroom
10 MOhm input impedance
Three clipping modes (balanced with LEDs, unbalanced with silicon diode, no clipping/clean boost)
Controls for Gain, Tone and Level
Flexi-Switch allows momentary activation of the effect
