The DP-3000 digital piano plays perfectly thanks to its touch-sensitive hammer action. After all, if you’ve learnt on this piano, you’ll be able to sit down at any traditional piano and play in exactly the same way. You’re playing on a weighted keyboard, which means you can feel how, when you press a key, the hammer head strikes a string and makes it ring out (simulated, of course). If you strike the key gently, the hammer head strikes the side of the string lightly, producing a soft, quiet sound. If, on the other hand, you strike the key faster and harder, the note sounds louder and more brilliant. Just like a ‘real’ piano. In addition, the keyboard is fitted with a triple sensor; this detects the pressure point at which the action is simulated. In other words, the brief moment during which the hammer can swing freely before it strikes the string.
