P90 pickup in humbucker format for the neck position
With the Seymour Duncan SPH90-1 Phat Cat, Seymour Duncan offers the most authentic reproduction possible of the classic P-90 sound in a conventional humbucker format. Just like its inspiration, the Phat Cat is a single-coil pickup housed within a humbucker shell, delivering a rich, full-bodied tone that combines the classic characteristics of a single-coil with the fat, full sound of the wide coil winding. Two Alnico 2 magnets ensure a good amount of sustain and a clear attack. The neck version is reverse-polarised and wound to effectively suppress noise when used in combination with the SPH90-1B for the bridge position.

I started with just one of these in the neck position to replace the original humbucker on my SG. That was so good I decided to change the bridge humbucker too. What a transformation: I have never really got on too well with the sound of bridge pickups but this one is just great.
While restoring a battered Gibson es135 I decided to swap out the neck Humbucker for a Phat Cat. Wow! The quality of the finish, the fit and the sound are amazing! The sound is incredibly defined & clear, plus it gets dirty when driven. It was a big gamble for me to take but fortunately well worth it!
