The ESP LTD Viper-400 Baritone Black Satin is designed for modern metal and drop tunings, featuring an extended27" (686 mm) baritone scale for precise and tight string response. Its traditional full mahogany body with set neck delivers rich tonal depth and powerful projection. The neck has a comfortable “Thin U” profile, allowing even complex riffs and virtuosic solos to be played smoothly. Two active EMG humbuckers 81 at the bridge and 85 at the neck provide aggressive, high-output tones with a sharp, focused midrange that cuts through the mix. High-quality hardware, including Grover Rotomatic tuners, a classic Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a matching Stopbar tailpiece, completes the ESP LTD Viper-400 Baritone.
The ESP LTD Viper-400 Baritone Black Satin with extended scale and active pickups from EMG delivers tighte sounds even with drop tunings.

As a bass player wanting to move into guitar playing to expand my writing possibilities I went over a few baritone options. I needed something that would handle the low tunings I want to use and shave something with a longer scale length that didn't feel a million miles away from what I am used to. In the end I settled on this wonderful piece. It handles lower tunings very well and after a few minutes of play time I felt my hands falling very naturally on the neck finding playing up and down it no problem at all even across a 27" scale length. The pickups are what you would expect from EMG's. Some people love them and some people don't but I found them perfectly suited to what I wanted. Overall I am really happy with it and encourage anyone looking for a baritone to give this a shot. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
