Semi-acoustic construction for a sonorous sound

At the heart of Godin's A4 Ultra Fretless SA Bass is a linden body with generous resonance chambers and solid spruce top, giving the sound a sonorous acoustic timbre and lively dynamics. The bolt-on maple neck impresses with extremely great playability over the bass strings vibrating with a classic long scale, while the fretless fingerboard guarantees the singing fretless sound with indulgent sound development. In addition, the thumb rest promises a high level of playing comfort.

With a Lace Sensor low-profile pickup and the RMC piezo system, Godin A4 delivers versatile bass sounds. The thumb rest supports the comfortable playing characteristics.

Flexible Bass Sound

In addition to the Lace Sensor low-profile bass pickup that delivers crisp electric bass tones at the bass amp, the Godin A4 Ultra Fretless is equipped with an RMC Piezo pickup system for lively acoustic tones with double bass character. While volume and tone controls provide the usual control over the magnetic pickup, the piezo features an active preamp with 3-band EQ whose controls are located in the upper section. Thanks to Synth Access, the Piezo system also allows you to control a bass synthesizer via a 13-pin cable, with Program Up and Program Down switches and a Synth Volume fader.
