The Tama HS80W from the Roadpro series is a chrome-plated snare stand featuring a Glide-Tite joint and double-braced legs in a tripod configuration.
Tama’s ‘Glide-Tite’ joint ensures a more secure attachment through metal-to-metal contact. This ensures extremely stable anchoring and complete isolation of a tom or cymbal. As the stand does not move with the instrument, the instrument’s natural resonance is maximised.
Tama’s patented, gearless ‘Quick-Set Tilter’ marks another advance by TAMA in the field of hardware. Based on fundamental principles of physics, the ‘Quick-Set Tilter’ maintains its position through the friction of six smooth metal discs instead of conventional gears, allowing you to adjust it to any desired angle. This mechanism also features a more durable design than a conventional gear-driven tilt mechanism.
Asymmetrically arranged basket arms allow the drum to be mounted with 8 or 10 tension blocks without any interference from the tensioning mechanism, the drumhead or the tension blocks. As the basket rotates independently of the stand, you can position the tension mechanism in any desired position.
By inserting nylon washers into the joints of the stand, Tama has improved durability and made the movement of the legs significantly smoother. The staggered arrangement of the basket arms prevents contact between the arms and the snare tensioner or snare butt, regardless of whether the snare drum has 8 or 10 lugs. An extra-large adjustment knob for the arms makes tightening and loosening easy.
Tama’s ‘Escape Claws’ rubber pads allow the snare drum to ‘float’ on the basket arms, thereby ensuring improved resonance. They also help to reduce fatigue by cushioning the strain placed on the arms and wrists by snare drumming.
