The P-225 BK is the latest generation of Yamaha’s popular P Series and comes in an elegant cabinet that is slightly shorter, flatter and more compact than that of its predecessor. The new GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard with hammer action offers a balanced dynamic range, delivering a piano-like playing experience. Great attention has been paid to the P-225’s signature piano sound, which is digitally reproduced and based on the flagship CFX concert grand piano.
Thanks to Yamaha’s Virtual Resonance Modelling (VRM lite) technology, the digital piano is able to reproduce the expressive and nuanced tonal changes of a real grand piano, such as string vibration. A total of 24 sounds are available. Thanks to its high polyphony of 192 voices, the Yamaha P-225 has plenty of headroom even during fast playing, ensuring that no lingering note is lost. For a touch more brilliance and spatial sound, four different reverb effects, as well as a Wall EQ and Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC), are available on request. The Dual, Split and Layer keyboard modes are also included, allowing two sounds to be distributed and layered across the entire keyboard. A metronome can be activated at any time for rhythmic accompaniment. To help you perfect your playing or to act as a third and fourth hand, the P-225 BK offers a linear, two-track recording function. The features include 303 learning songs, which can be accessed via the Smart Pianist app (Android / iOS). Anyone who would like to share their practice sessions and new pieces with others can do so digitally and conveniently using the Rec’n’Share app. Bluetooth audio streaming from a smartphone or tablet is also supported, so you can stream your favourite songs from YouTube and an MP3 player directly to the P-225’s speakers and play along. MIDI and audio are transferred to and from a computer via USB. This benefits all musicians who wish to use the digital piano for composing and producing in conjunction with a DAW. The position and angle of the built-in speakers have been designed to reproduce as precisely as possible the sound reflected by the soundboard and the lid of an acoustic grand piano.
