Jumbo 12-string with solid spruce top, maple body, cutaway and TK-40D pickup
The Takamine GJ72CE-12BSB Brown Sunburst is an electro-acoustic 12-string acoustic guitar whose preferred field of application is powerful strumming passages and song accompaniments. The mighty jumbo body made of laminated curly maple with a solid spruce top, combined with the six string choirs, promises a wide-ranging sound that responds dynamically to the player. At the same time, the slim mahogany neck offers optimal conditions for comfortable playability. Last but not least, the Takamine GJ72CE-12BSB Brown Sunburst with its integrated Takamine GD-40D pickup system is ideally equipped for amplified use on stage or in the sesseion of the recording studio.

The decision to buy this 12 string was to replace my James Neligan acoustic 12-string, not in the sense that it played or sounded bad, but the Takamine GJ72 just is able to do more.
For starters, the built in pre-amp has a lot more controllability for not only the bass, mid and treble tones, but the mid contour, EQ bypass and especially the notch filter just delivers more for what you seek for when recording or playing live.
I was already convinced of the Takamine brand when I tried a 12-string when I visited the Music Store department in Cologne a year ago: from the first moment when you touch the strings, the guitars of Takamine feel 'home', as if you only left it one day before.
And so again with this wonderful 12-string electro-acoustic. The warmth of just one strum and letting the sustain clear out after still gives shivers down my spine and a belly feeling of total relaxation.
The first days when I played the instrument only leff me with one question: why does a human being need sleep in the night????
I can recommend the guitar for both amateurs and professionals, Like I said, the guitar just delivers everything.
One small thing when playing the guitar amped: be careful not to open the volume too much, like a Gretsch guitar it can sound LOUD!! But the volume knob works perfectly.
