I saw this particular brush in a couple of videos around, used by professionals and hobbyists alike. They're not particularly soft, but not too hard either, making them a good jack of all trades, though one might find them a bit too weak as a result. The brushes are very soft. The extension/retraction mechanism is kind of hard to budge at first, but it seems to loosen up with use. I'm not a fan of the material used here, but it's functional, I really like the wavy end of the stick, allowing to adjust the brush's size and thickness. However, I recommend having a smooth-ish head for this. I have a couple of Coated Ambassadors, and the brushes's tips latch onto them quite a bit. Same (but not as much) for an Evans G2 that I own. I had specifically bought a Remo Ambassador Fiberskyn for this, and the brushes glide on it VERY smoothly. However that's not the case for other rougher coated surfaces, I suppose it's not much of an issue, but it is something to keep in mind when comparing this pair of brushes to other models like the Steve Gadd which has bent wires to circumvent that issue, for a couple more bucks.
