The Audix SCX25AMP (Matched Stereo Pair) is a professional studio condenser microphone with an elegant and appealing design and patented capsule suspension system. The capsule is shockproof with an unusual suspension system consisting of a complicated brass ring and thus completely isolated from the actual microphone and electronics housing. The SCX25A therefore delivers a detailed and extremely realistic sound.

Thanks to the even frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz, the SCX25A responds very evenly to signals - both on and off axis - resulting in excellent phase-closure and minimal near-field effects. The SCX25A is characterized by a wide cardioid characteristic and thus allows the voice or instrument to be captured with the sound of the recording room. Other important features are the 25mm gold-plated membrane, the minimized electronics and the resulting small design of the microphone.

For applications in which extremely loud input signals have to be processed, the SCX25ALO with a maximum SPL of 150dB and a sensitivity of 4.9mV/Pa @ 1k is available. In addition to the perfect reduction of speech and vocals, the Audix SCX25A is excellent for recording acoustic instruments such as piano, acoustic guitar, brass, woodwind, percussion instruments, drums, orchestras and ensembles.
