Electric Guitar Top with two channels and 15 Watt power
With the EVH 5150III LBXII Head, Eddie van Halen presents a compact "lunchbox" version of his legendary electric guitar amplifier, which is in no way inferior to its larger siblings. With its full tube design, two channels and 15 watt output, the compact top unit is just as well equipped for band rehearsal or performance as it is for the jam session in the living room at home. In the second version of the top EVH now brings the classic 5150 Clean (Green Channel) and Crunch Sound (Blue Channel) into a handy format.
The EVH5150III LBXII is a compact tube top for electric guitar and convinces with high class sounds.
From Green Cleans to Blue Crunch
Four ECC83S tubes in the preamp of the EVH 5150III LBXII provide sufficient distortion reserves to present the popular 5150 Crunch Channel authentically and with solid emphasis. The blue "Crunch" channel starts with a rich overdrive whose dynamic reproduction is the perfect basis for rhythm riffs. In the green clean channel the mini amp convinces with clear bell-like cleans for smooth intros, jazzy voicings or as a basis for effect pedals. In addition to the 3-band tone control, presence and resonance controls are available for adjusting the sound, which influence the reproduction of treble and bass in the output stage. Also new are the concentric double potentiometers for volume and gain for separate settings of both channels.
The EVH 5150III LBXII has a serial effect path and can be reduced in power.
Effect path and 15 Watt power
For connecting external effect devices, the EVH 5150III LBXII provides a serial effect path that works easily with both effect pedals and studio equipment. With 15 watts, the power amplifier, based on two EL84 tubes, easily drives large loudspeakers and provides sufficient volume reserves for use on stage or in the rehearsal room. Thanks to the power that can be reduced to about ¼, the compact tube amplifier can also be used for jamming in the home four walls without any problems.
