The Fender Nate Mendel Precision Bass Candy Apple Red is an extremely faithful replica of the '71 Precision Bass that the Foo Fighters bassist has been playing since the early '90s and with which he lays down the tight grooves for the Seattle quintet's global hits. Every last detail has been lovingly recreated, including the Candy Apple Red nitro finish with gold undercoat, which gives the finish its unique depth. A light ageing also recreates the scars of Mendel's original bass.
At Nate's request, the body of his Fender Nate Mendel Precision Bass Candy Apple Red signature instrument was made of black ash, promising a richer sound with aggressive growl in contrast to the usual alder of his '71 original. The profile of the bolt-on maple neck exactly matches that of the original and promises comfortable and fatigue-free playing.
The Fender Nate Mendel Precision Bass Candy Apple Red features a Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-3 Quarter Pound split-coil pickup, which has a significantly increased output. With its fat, expressive sound and the distinctive midrange spectrum, it provides the basis for groovy basslines that assert themselves in the band mix with rich pressure.
