With the 8361AP monitor, Genelec offers a reference-class main monitor that is renowned for its accurate sound reproduction capability. The coaxial system provides an ideal point source of sound with an absolutely linear, coloration-free frequency response for reliable evaluation of mixes and fatigue-free listening. Three powerful power amplifiers supply the monitor with a total of 1000 watts. The large sound path provides a wide listening zone and excellent stereo imaging. Two oval bass drivers provide optimal directivity down to the lower frequency ranges. The speaker can be easily operated horizontally or vertically due to the coaxial alignment of the mid-high unit. The die-cast aluminium cabinet is robust and extremely low in resonance. The rounded cabinet edges prevent sound coloration. A protective circuit prevents damage if playback levels are too high.

Disturbing room influences can be significantly reduced by DSP filters (DIP switch on the rear panel) or a specific calibration with the GLM2 measuring microphone/software. The IsoPod base included in the scope of delivery decouples the loudspeaker from the ground. In addition, the speaker can be tilted and precisely aligned to the listening position.
