The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Bourbon Burst is a historically authentic reissue of the first "'Burst" model and accordingly convinces with the authentic playability and sound of a late 50s electric guitar. Following the tradition, the Gibson Custom Shop uses a mahogany body with maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a more powerful "Chunky C-Shape".
With two Gibson Custombucker pickups and the hand-wired switch, the electric guitar also delivers first-class vintage sounds whose character is hard to distinguish from the legendary PAFs. Last but not least, the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard VOS Bourbon Burst features authentic hardware in the form of a No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, stop bar tailpiece and Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners.
Using traditional methods of construction, the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue convinces with the feel and sound of the legendary "Holy Grails". And so, the Gibson Custom Shop uses a one-piece mahogany body with a genuine plain-maple top, while the mahogany neck is glued to the long neck joint and features an Indian rosewood fingerboard. The use of smooth Hide-Glues guarantees a perfect sound throughout the entire instrument. The strong "Chunky C-Shape" neck profile together with the 12" fingerboard radius and the narrow frets ensure an authentic playing experience.
The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Bourbon Burst is equipped with two Gibson Custombuckers, which are authentic replicas of the legendary PAF humbuckers with Alnico III magnets and unpotted coils. Therefore, a lively vintage sound is available at the guitar amplifier, which perfectly translates both clean and distorted songs of blues, jazz or rock with silky basses, vocally singing mids and an aerial treble spectrum. The pickups are also controlled via CTS's classic 3-way switching with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup. Authentic Paper-in-Oil capacitors also promise particularly smooth reductions of the treble spectrum.
A high quality hardware equipment in authentic vintage style completes the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Bourbon Burst. The body features Ted McCarty's established combination of a Gibson No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and an aluminium stop bar tailpiece, which guarantees optimal intonation as well as playing comfort. On top of the historic nylon nut, the strings are held in place on the headstock by Kluson tuners with authentic single-ring action.
