The Ibanez Standard SR505E-BM Brown Mahogany features a straightforward concept that combines the legendary playing comfort of the Soundgear design with high-quality and functional features. Ibanez uses an okoumé body in the familiar streamlined design, while the comfortable "SR5" neck is made of five-piece jatoba and walnut. On the bass amp, the Ibanez SR505E with two Bartolini BH2 pickups and the active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band tone control covers a wide sound spectrum, making it an all-rounder for almost every musical style. Last but not least the Ibanez standard SR505E-BM Brown Mahogany has an Ibanez Accu-Cast B500 bass bridge and Die-Cast bass mechanics.
The Ibanez Standard SR505E-BM Brown Mahogany features an okoumé body which, thanks to its ergonomically curved design, fits snugly on the player and takes a balanced position on both the thigh and bass strap. In addition, the extremely slim and smooth-running "SR5" profile of the screwed, five-piece neck made of Jatoba and walnut provides high playing comfort across all 24 frets of the Jatoba fingerboard.
For the electric sound conversion the Ibanez SR505E-BM Brown Mahogany uses two Bartolini BH2 pickups. Equipped with blade pole pieces, the bass humbuckers deliver an articulated sound with a tight bass foundation, broad midrange and a silky treble spectrum that provides the ideal foundation for grooves between blues, pop, jazz, rock and metal. To adjust the sound, an active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band tone control is also on board, with a center frequency that can be switched three times. The EQ bypass switch also allows the five-string to be played in classic passive mode.
Last but not least, the Ibanez Standard SR505E-BM Brown Mahogany convinces with its high-quality, indestructible hardware equipment. The Ibanez Accu-Cast B500 bridge with its solid construction supports bass response and sustain, while four separately adjustable string riders guarantee optimum adjustment of intonation and string position. In addition, five Ibanez Die-Cast bass tuners on the headstock ensure precise and stable tuning.

Пятисотый, после ревизии модели, стал отличной рабочей лошадкой! Сохранив удобство, бас стал звучать интереснее. Звукосниматели поменялись вместе с эквалайзером. Ещё появилась регулировка расстояния между струнами.
Немного смущает внешность - она обычная, без чего-либо запоминающегося. Полуматовое покрытие возможно будет более стойким чем на старой ревизии, но это покажет только время.
То есть этот бас - максимум звука и функций при минимуме украшений. Рецепт профессионального студийного инструмента.
После обновления линейки в 2019 году, этот бас стал отличным выбором для работы. В меру лёгкий и весьма удобный корпус и тонкий гриф. Не устанешь носить! Сатин или матовый корпус всегда полируется до блеска от игры, поэтому 4 звезды за оптику.
Ставлю 4 за звучание и работу, так как мне бас нравится, но не все согласны со мной.
По звуку он своеобразный: тёплый жирный низ с сохранением отклика и упругости. Новые звукосниматели стали лучше, универсальнее прежних. Благодаря активному эквалайзеру можно идеально втиснуться в микс!
