The Z.VEX Vibrophase is a vibrato/phaser effect pedal based on the circuitry of his candle-powered "Candela" and built in response to many requests from the guitarist community. The Vibrophase relies on an electro-optical circuit with LED and photocell, which promises a particularly harmonious, washed-out sound. The Vibrato/Phaser control allows the user to switch continuously between classic pitch modulation and the popular phasing effect, whilst the Speed control determines the effects liveliness and the Feedback knob feeds part of the output signal back into the phasing stages. The interactive combination of High Bias and Low Limit controls can also be used to precisely determine the operating point of the LED, so that the Phaser effect either remains focused on a narrow frequency band, or is fully applied to the sound.
