What is the difference to the "normal" annual license extension?

The Pro Tools Studio Carbon annual license included with Pro Tools Carbon differs from the "normal" subscription in that it includes the " Perpetual Parachute" (perpetual license rescue anchor). This means that the license is not switched off at the end of the one-year period (if it is not renewed in time), but is converted into a perpetual, which cannot be updated further. With this perpetual, Pro Tools can still be used with the last delivered version, but a return to the annual license with all its benefits including continuous updates is no longer possible.
