The analogue circuit of the 50th Anniversary SD-1 Super Overdrive generates distortion through asymmetrical clipping, whose harmonic overtones are clearly reminiscent of an overdriven tube amplifier. Located in the medium gain range, the Boss Super Drive feels most at home in front of a clean or crunchy amp, where it delivers creamy Blues and rock sounds. The Boss SD-1 is also ideal for stacking with other boosters or overdrives.
