The Clarke Sweetone Tin Whistle is a steel plate made flute from the penny whistle family. Tin Whistles are traditional, small beak flutes with six tone holes. These flutes evolved from the flageolet in the late 18th century. Penny whistles have long been used in Irish folk music but also in South African kwela.
