The DW DW Design Shellset Rock Blue Slate is a four-piece shell set made of maple, built using DW's HVLT construction. The Design Series combines exceptional craftsmanship with impressive sound performance. The eight-ply shells are constructed using HVLT (Horizontal Vertical Low Timbre) layering, in which 1/32" thick plies of North American maple are oriented strategically to produce a powerful blend of full-spectrum sound, attack, punch, and tonal versatility. The modern DW Turret Lugs are a scaled-down version of DW’s iconic round lugs, offering excellent handling and stable tuning. DW’s patented STM™ (Suspension Tom Mount) system allows the toms to resonate freely while keeping them securely mounted. For precise tuning control, DW has developed the patented True-Pitch® Rod System, featuring tuning screws with a 5 mm thread finer than the standard 12/24 thread used by most other brands. The DW Design Series also comes equipped with high-quality drumheads made by REMO, delivering a balanced and defined sound right out of the box.
