Epic cinematic Percussion for film, games and trailers

EastWest Stormdrum 2 Pro is one of the best-known virtual instruments in the field of cinematic percussion. Developed by award-winning producers Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix, the Library delivers massive drums, extraordinary percussion instruments and dark sound design elements for film compositions, trailer music and modern game scores. The first installment already set the standard for Hollywood productions, Stormdrum 2 expands the concept with significantly more content, new instruments and an enormously broad sound palette.

Hollywood sound with a huge selection of instruments

The Library combines classic taikos, ethnic drums and gigantic ensemble drums with experimental metal percussion, Glitch sounds and cinematic effects sounds. Many instruments were built especially for this production or come from rare collections of international percussionists. Particularly striking are the huge "Earthquake Ensemble" drums, the massive "Beast " Tom from Remo or unusual instruments such as the whale drum, hang drum, waterphone and Tibetan prayer circle. In addition to aggressive trailer drums, Stormdrum 2 Pro also offers atmospheric textures, subtle percussion and organic timbres for ambient, hybrid scores and modern orchestral productions.

Over 12 GB of new material and 100+ MIDI Performances

Stormdrum 2 Pro contains more than 12 GB of new 24-bit samples and delivers over 100 MIDI Performances including variations, intros and endings. The grooves are strongly inspired by modern movie scores and range from brute Percussion arrangements to hypnotic rhythms and tribal patterns.

Since the MIDI Performances are tempo-dependent and not time-stretched, the samples remain clean and natural even with extreme tempo changes. This means that the grooves can be adapted to any production. In addition, individual instruments can be muted, edited or completely replaced.

Recorded in the legendary EastWest Studios

The recordings were made in EastWest Studio 1 in Hollywood, formerly United Western Recorders. The room is known for its large, deep and at the same time controlled sound, which can be heard on countless film scores. It is this characteristic Hollywood room sound that gives Stormdrum 2 Pro its enormous size and depth.

Several Velocity layers and round robin samples also ensure lively and realistic performances without the typical machine gun effect of many older Drum libraries.

OPUS Engine with modern workflow features

Stormdrum 2 Pro now runs in the latest OPUS Engine from EastWest. This provides modern functions such as individual downloads, customizable keyswitches, flexible mixer effects and numerous MIDI tools. The user interface has also been significantly modernized and can be scaled in a versatile way.

The integrated filters, reverb effects, stereo spread options and performance controls enable in-depth sound processing directly within the engine. This opens up many creative possibilities, especially for sound design and trailer productions.
