With the Epiphone Les Paul ES Pro Wine Red, Gibson's subsidiary presents a semi-hollow electric guitar that combines classic construction with the iconic Les Paul design and convinces with an excellent price/performance ratio. The electric guitar with its maple laminate body and solid centre block offers the best conditions for the typical semi-acoustic sound, while two Epiphone ProBucker pickups with an option for coil split provide a wide range of tone colours.
For the authentically resonant semi-acoustic sound, Epiphone uses the classic ES construction. Accordingly, the back, sides and top of the body are made of laminated maple, while a solid centre block counteracts unwanted feedback. Thanks to the classic Les Paul design, this semi-acoustic also offers the manoeuvrable handling of an electric guitar, whereby the slim mahogany neck with "1960 Slim Taper D" profile lies comfortably in the hand when playing the electric guitar.
The Epiphone Les Paul ES Pro Wine Red uses an Epiphone ProBucker-2 on the neck and an Epiphone ProBucker-3 on the bridge, which were developed on the model of the legendary Humbucker from the golden 1950s. Accordingly, they convince with their traditional, warm vintage sound, whose vocal sound development and lively dynamics revive every blues lick and rock riff. In addition, the coil split option provides authentic single coil sounds for an extended sound spectrum.
In addition to its excellent sound, the Epiphone Les Paul ES Pro Wine Red also impresses with its high-quality hardware equipment, which offers unlimited functionality. Accordingly, the combination of LockTone Stopbar and LockTone Tune-O-Matic, which can be locked firmly on their bolts, ensures a perfect string position and intonation. From there, the strings with the classic 24.75" scale length (628 mm) run in the direction of the headstock, on which they are guided via the self-lubricating saddle made of synthetic bone to the well-known precise Grover Rotomatic tuners.
