Evans E-Ring, 10" damping ring

The E-Ring is a simple yet very effective product for damping the sound of over resonant drums. It is very effective however it is not suited to recording as they buzz and I would always advocate using a less resonant head ie. fixing the proble at source instead of using one of these. The get torn and messy after a few shows but at Music Stores price are easily replaced. Try REMO Pinstripes if you find your drums too resonant. In the studio I recommend using Moongel where an E-Ring is buzzing. Overall a great tool to have in your arsenal for live and studio use despite the issues highlighted.
