FAME Audio Challenger Sub 18A is an active 18" PA subwoofer with 600 watts RMS, Class D power amplifier and M20 thread.

More low bass for PA setups - ideal as a bass extension for tops

With the Sub-18-A from the Challenger series, FAME Audio offers an enormous bass package with sufficient connection options for your concerts and events. The powerful 18" subwoofer can be used in a wide range of applications, as its 600 watt Class D power amplifier knows how to impress in any situation. The cones deliver a rich sound in the 30-150 Hz range and provide plenty of pressure. This makes the Sub18A ideal as a support for many tops.

An M20 thread is available for mounting so that other speakers can be positioned firmly above the woofer. Transport is facilitated by 4 recessed handles and is quite easy thanks to the relatively low weight of 38.75 kg. Rubber feet provide the necessary protection against scratches and dents on the underside.

Finding the connection made easy

Fortunately, if you take a look at the back, any user, whether a technician or a layman, will quickly realise that there is not much bolting on or twisting to be done. Intuitive working is therefore pre-programmed.

The stereo input for XLR connections and the two stereo XLR outputs are available for selection. The main output also offers a crossover function that can be switched between 120 Hz and 80 Hz. Directly below this, 2 LEDs provide information about the status of the SUB18A, i.e. whether it is switched on or off and whether the internal limiter is working.

Other useful functions are the 3 switches on the right-hand side, which allow the ground lift to be used, the frequency response to be changed by a slight bass boost and the Phase to be turned.
