'60s Oval C Neck with Custom Thickness
While the body of the Fender '62 Stratocaster Relic RW Aged Seminole Red is crafted from two pieces of alder with an off-center seam toward the treble side, its first standout feature lies in the neck dimensions. The classic ’60s Oval C shape is slimmer near the nut, with just 19 mm of wood behind the first fret – designed to expertly meet the demands of advanced playing in the lower fretboard positions. Additionally, the instrument sports a compound fretboard radiusthat gradually increasesfrom 7.25 inches to 9.5 inches, striking the perfect balance between vintage feel and modern playability.
To stay true to the sixties sound in every detail, Fender uses three hand-wound Custom Shop Fat '60s single coils. These pickups draw on classic vintage components and deliver increased output, giving you power when you need it. Additionally, the Vintage Modified #2 Strat wiring is featured, which gives the bridge pickup its own tone control and includes a tone saver bleed to preserve the treble even at lower volume levels.
