The Fender 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic MN Aged Chartreuse Sparkle combines the California company's authentic Early Sixties features with a stylish Custom Color Relic finish to create a premium electric guitar for country and rock. While the alder body presents itself as a custom model with stylish bindings on the front and back, the bolt-on "Oval C" maple neck carries the historically correct Round Laminated maple fingerboard. Hand-wound Fender Custom Shop '63 Telecaster single-coils provide crisp vintage Tele sounds with biting twang at the guitar amp, but enough warmth for harmonic cleans and singing leads. Traditional hardware in the form of a Fender Vintage 58-63 Tele bridge and precise Fender Vintage Style tuners complete the Fender 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic MN Aged Chartreuse Sparkle.
In building the Fender 1963 Telecaster Relic, the Fender Custom Shop follows the authentic specifications of the early sixties and uses high-quality woods that promise pleasant handling and a lively sound. The two-piece body made of selected light alder wood promises a pleasant balance on the strap and on the thigh, while the bolt-on neck is made of rift-sawn maple and naturally carries the historically correct "Round Laminated" maple fingerboard, which is glued onto the rounding provided by the neck blank. The not too beefy "'60s Style Oval C" profile also promises comfortable playing characteristics for the classic techniques of Country, Blues or Rock.
For pickups on the Fender 1963 Telecaster Relic MN Aged Chartreuse Sparkle, the guitar builders at Fender Custom Shop choose two Fender Hand-Wound '63 Tele single-coil pickups. Equipped with Alnico II magnets in vintage stagger, the single-coils deliver authentic vintage tones with rich twang and bite for dynamic playing styles and the right amount of warmth for harmonic cleans and singing overdrive. A modern Telecaster circuit with 3-way switch as well as general volume and tone controls allows the production of multifaceted timbres.
Last but not least, the Fender 1963 Telecaster Custom Relic MN Aged Chartreuse Sparkle is equipped with reliable hardware in the style of the early sixties. Accordingly, the Fender 58-63 Tele bridge has three double tailpieces made of fluted steel, which in conjunction with the string guide through the body contribute significantly to the crisp tone of the electric guitar. The headstock also features a bone nut and Fender Vintage-style tuners for stable and precise tuning of the Custom Relic MN Aged Chartreuse Sparkle.
