The Fender American Vintage II 1973 Stratocaster RW Olympic White is an authentic replica of a ’73 Strat, featuring the unmistakable appointments of the dazzling CBS era. In addition to the large headstock with a historically accurate ‘Bullet Nut’ for the truss rod, the electric guitar features a triple-bolted maple neck with Micro-Tilt Adjustment and an ash body with the classic 1970s contours. The ‘1973 C’ profile, which is not too thick, also promises first-class playability. Three Fender Pure Vintage ’73 single-coil pickups and the traditional passive electronics elicit authentic vintage sounds from the guitar amplifier, which are right at home in almost any genre of popular music. In designing the American Vintage II ’73 Strat, Fender naturally adheres closely to the specifications of the eventful CBS era. Accordingly, the maple neck features not only the obligatory ‘Large Headstock’ with its striking Fender logo, but also the practical ‘Bullet Nut’ for adjusting the truss rod. Naturally, three screws and the ‘Micro-Tilt’ mechanism for adjusting the neck angle are used to attach the neck to the ergonomically designed ash body. The “1973 C” neck profile, with a 42 mm nut width and a 7.25” fingerboard radius, also promises extremely comfortable playability across the entire length of the 21-fret rosewood fingerboard.
Fender has chosen three Pure Vintage ’73 single-coil pickups for the American Vintage II 1973 Stratocaster. The single-coil pickups, wound to historical specifications, feature staggered poleand, when plugged into a guitar amplifier, deliver a wide range of authentic vintage tones with that characteristic ‘spank’, making the Strat a versatile all-rounder for soulful clean tones and searing overdrive. In addition to the 5-way pickup selector switch and the master volume control, the Strat features a shared tone control for the neck and middle pickups and a dedicated tone control for the bridge pickup.
Last but not least, Fender completes the American Vintage II 1973 Stratocaster RW Olympic White with the typical components of the 1970s. The bridge is the classic American Vintage Synchronised Tremolo, which not only impresses with its silky-smooth action but also enhances the guitar’s brilliant and lively tone thanks to its cold-rolled steel block. Individually adjustable saddles made from bent sheet steel also guarantee precise adjustment of intonation and string action. Behind the bone nut, Fender Pure Vintage ‘F Stamped’ vintage-style tuners ensure the American Vintage II ’73 Stratocaster stays precisely in tune.
