These strings are smooth for the fingers, the sound is powerful, warm and mellow, with a little more high end than other flat wounds. The tension is quite big with this gauge, but it was exactly what I was looking for to have a rich and well balanced sound on each string for my Fender precision bass. My bass stays very versatile, which is not the case with every flat wound strings. Thinking about stringing my other basses (stingray and Gibson) with these strings now...
