Active 2-way studio monitor for near-field applications
The Focal Shape 40 4" Active Studio Monitor (Single) features a 60Hz-35kHz frequency response (+/- 3dB) with a maximum sound pressure level of 102dB. Made in France, this monitor provides a wide and precise stereo image and remarkable acoustic transparency. The Shape monitors combine an ingenuous design and numerous settings optimised for the acoustics of small listening rooms.
Featuring a 1" tweeter with very low directivity for a flexible listening position, this monitor is designed without a port, but with a double passive radiator, allowing it to be placed near a wall. With numerous settings for optimal integration, this monitor offers accurate control, even in the very high end. A flax sandwich cone produces a controlled and articulated bass, natural and detailed lower mid-range and upper mid-range registers.

Perfect size for the small project studio. Can be used close to walls as long as you adjust the rear EQ setting controls. No DSP, so no latency and no bass ports, the bass radiators supply the low end frequencies instead - down to about 60 Hz. European made speakers, made in France. Really pleased with these.
