To stay true to the vintage original, the 1958 Les Paul Junior Double Cut Reissue is built with historically accurate materials and methods. The solid mahogany body and glued mahogany neck, paired with a rosewood fingerboard, sit under a thin nitrocellulose finish with an aged patina, allowing the wood to breathe for natural resonance. The pickup's black cap is mounted to the body with the distinctive "dog ear" design. Drawing from the original 1950s specs, this bridge-mounted single coil delivers an authentic vintage tone, offering a responsive dynamic range and a prominent mid-range, making it perfect for both clean and overdriven sounds in classic blues and rock styles. Volume and tone controls are equipped with high-quality CTS Audio Taper Pots and an authentic paper-in-oil capacitor, giving you precise tonal adjustments.
The Gibson Custom Shop has outfitted the 1958 Les Paul Junior Double Cut Reissue VOS Cherry Red with authentic 1950s hardware. The classic wraparound bridge anchors the strings to the body, contributing to a direct, focused sound. The two grub screws at the back of the bridge allow for fine-tuning of the intonation. On the headstock, a nylon saddle guides the strings to Kluson White button tuners, known for their tuning stability and vintage appeal.
