None other than legendary guitar maker James “Jimmy” D’Aquisto is responsible for the design of the Hagstrom HJ500 Natural. The archtop jazz guitar, born out of the collaboration with Hagstrom, produces a wide-ranging tonal palette, from expressive jazz tones to hotter rock sounds, without compromising its full-resonance construction. The HJ500 combines the tonal character of its laminated maple body with two Hagstrom HJ50 humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, whilst the glued-in Canadian maple neck, featuring an H-Expander truss rod and a 21-fret Resinator fingerboard, provides the basis for virtuoso playing. The hardware, comprising a Jimmy Ebony bridge designed by D’Aquisto and Hagstrom tuners with an 18:1 ratio, also adheres to the harmonious core concept of the Hagstrom HJ500.
