The DLX 12 possesses a Ply Maple body, and top, to emphasize the tone of each octave string, all fitting together with a maple neck for added brilliance on this 12 stringed chorale piece.
To match the Viking® DLX 12’s fuller acoustic sound, a set of Hagstrom H-50 humbucking pickups are added to provide a natural, clean, calibrated electric tone, which delivers a clean vintage tones

Hagstrom Viking Deluxe 12 TSB Tobacco Brown SunburstOut of the box, the first run down the neck scratched my fingers from the rough frets. There were some finish issues too. Blemishes in the paint.
My biggest complaint is the bridge post sleeves are lifting out of the wood. On the low E side, the sleeve is almost two to three mm out of the wood. The inner side (toward the A string is flush with the surface, so no way to 'tap' the sleeve in. The high E string is similar, but not as high out of the wood.
The sound is incredible. Very balanced (after set-up) with the right amount of 'jingle' without sounding harsh or tinny. Playability is great. I love this thing, but those issues I can not accept for a 1000 Euro guitar. I'm returning it sadly.
