The Ibanez EWP17M1E-SFO is a compact piccolo guitar in tenor size that impresses with its independent character and great versatility. Its handy format makes it the ideal companion for on the go, for creative songwriting sessions or as an inspiring addition in the studio.
An exceptional guitar that combines compact dimensions with an expressive sound and modern features: the Ibanez EWP17M1E-SFO.
Body made of curly maple
The piccolo tuning and compact tenor size produce a fresh sound rich in overtones with a concise response and transparent articulation. The laminated curly maple body supports a focused projection with tight basses, clearly defined mids and brilliant highs. Chords sound airy and rich in detail, while individual notes stand out precisely and are ideal for melody lines, arpeggios or percussive playing styles. The model complements arrangements with a characterful, shimmering timbre.
Cutaway design
The premium technical feature is undoubtedly the cutaway, which allows comfortable access to the higher registers and extends the playing range. At the same time, the okoume neck sits comfortably in the hand and supports a fluid playing feel. Chords and melodies can be played precisely on the Purpleheart fingerboard with a 15.75" radius. In combination with a nut width of 42 mm and the short scale length of 432 mm, the guitar offers comfortable playability and invites creative playing techniques.
In-house pickup and preamp
For amplified use, the EWP17M1E-SFO is equipped with an Ibanez undersaddle pickup and the Ibanez AEQ2U preamp. This allows the characteristic piccolo sound to be transmitted to the amplifier or PA in a controlled and balanced manner. Thanks to the built-in tuner, the instrument can be tuned quickly and easily, while tone controls allow the sound to be fine-tuned.
Soda Float Open Pore Finish
Visually, the piccolo guitar is presented in the eye-catching Soda Float Open Pore Finish, which brings out the grain of the curly maple in a particularly natural way. The open-pore varnish emphasizes the organic character of the wood and gives the instrument a modern look. A shimmering single-ring rosette adds an elegant accent and rounds off the unique design harmoniously.
