The Prestige AZ2204NW was engineered for maximum comfort and agility. The alder body features deep forearm and belly contours for excellent balance whether sitting or standing. The Super All Access Neck Joint allows seamless upper fret reach, supporting intricate lead work and modern techniques. The "AZ Oval C" profile roasted maple neck feels smooth and stable in the hand, while the compound-radius rosewood fingerboard ensures precise playability across the full range. Stainless steel jumbo frets with Prestige Fret Edge Treatment offer buttery string bends and long-term durability.

Seymour Duncan Fortuna single coils
The AZ2204NW features a specially designed HSS pickup configurationwith two Fortuna single coils and a Fortuna bridge humbucker, crafted by Seymour Duncan exclusively for Ibanez. Loaded with Alnico magnets and tuned for moderate output, these pickups offer a nuanced, vintage-inspired tone with sparkling highs, defined lows, and a rich midrange. Whether you're playing clean arpeggios, crunchy rhythm parts, or singing lead tones, the Fortuna pickups respond with exceptional clarity and dynamic detail.
The smart dyna-MIX9 circuit with Alter Switch allows you to intuitively call up a wide range of pickup combinations.
Flexible dyna-MIX9 circuit
To maximize tonal flexibility, Ibanez includes the dyna-MIX9 switching system. The 5-way blade switch gives access to standard pickup combinations, while the Alter Switch adds coil-splitting and parallel options, expanding the guitar's voice from vintage single-coil sparkle to thicker, punchier tones. Paired with master volume and tone controls, the AZ2204NW-VR is fully equipped for any musical scenario – from clean jazz to high-gain fusion.
Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. with clamping function for the strings and height-adjustable axle hold the AZ2204NW guitar securely in the correct tuning.

Completing the build, Ibanez equips the AZ2204NW-VR with high-end Gotoh hardware. The Gotoh T1702B 2-point tremolo, mounted with five springs, offers fluid response and stable tuning, ideal for subtle vibrato or expressive pitch dives. Brass saddles allow precise intonation and comfortable action adjustments, even in alternate tunings. At the headstock, Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. tuners feature height-adjustable posts for perfect break angles and ultra-reliable tuning stability, while a bone nut enhances sustain and resonance.
