Why the ruby tip is ideal for beginners

The heart of the SKRATCH 101 is the solid ruby needle tip. Ruby achieves a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale and offers a perfect balance of durability, performance and record protection. In contrast to diamond tips, ruby allows a gentler contact with the vinyl.

This is especially beneficial for beginners who are still perfecting their technique: The stylus easily withstands messy handles and more forceful movements when practising without damaging the valuable records or control vinyls. It offers stable tracking and excellent groove contact even with demanding techniques such as backspins or fast scratch routines.
