USB/MIDI to CV/Gate interface for demanding applications
The Kenton USB SOLO mk2 interface converts MIDI data from the USB-C or DIN input into CV, gate and clock signals. Operation is kept simple and clear. There are 32 memory locations for settings, some of which are preconfigured at the factory for retro classics such as Moog Minimoog or ARP Odyssey. The high-resolution 16-bit D/A converters ensure accurate conversion of MIDI commands into control voltages. 1V/Oct (e.g. for Roland synthesisers and Eurorack) or Hz/V characteristics (for Korg and Metasonix synthesisers) can be set as well as normal gate or switched trigger (old Moog synthesisers) or even gate with higher levels (e.g. ARP).
The interface offers four CV and one gate output, three of the CV outputs are defined as auxes. These can be set up as drum triggers including velocity , aftertouch , velocity , pitch bend, clock and reset and output the MIDI CC commands 0-119. The USB SOLO mk2 is also capable of generating an ADSR envelope and a synchronisable LFO. Both can modulate MIDI CCs or can be addressed as control voltages to the outputs. MIDI-Thru can also be used as a DIN sync output (e.g. for TR-808, TB-303 or with 48 ppqn for Korg and Oberheim).
