The idea of this bar is that you could mount two microphones on one mic stand, closely to each other and be able to adjust them. It is made of durable aluminum and contains three 3/8 threads (two at the edges and one in the center) and includes two 3/8 locking screws. So you can remove the screws if you need to. However, my bar has a defective thread and I am unable to unscrew the screw - quite unexpectedly from K&M. Howbeit I didnt find the ability to remove the screws very useful, so Im okay with that:)

I use this mic bar for stereo XY recording of an acoustic guitar, using a single mic stand. It works as expected and simplifies the job considerably.
