The Korg EK-50 is a 61-note velocity sensitive entertainer keyboard with 3-stage Touch Control. The tool-kit provided by the EK-50 facilitates both beginner and advanced musicians, with the keyboards more progressive elements coming into their own as the player develops.
The Style section is the source of accompaniment, and can be triggered by a single finger on the left hand or by chord shapes, and this Style changes dynamically based on these chords allowing you to improvise freely with the right hand. Choose from 280x genres of music, each with 4x variations.
The EK-50 features a staggering 702x sounds including instruments such as pianos, violins, saxophones, and drums. A Split function can also be employed to play different sounds at the same time, further diversifying your potential and live performance.
A large LED screen shows clearly what is happening even in low light conditions, whilst the 2x 10W speakers allow for practice and performance without an amplifier, and a battery powered option means music can be made anywhere. The on-board recording function means you need never forget those strong melodies that may come to you in these moments, easily saved to any commercial USB flash drive.

This Korg keyboard has great tones, is light and portable and intuitive to use without having to dive into a manual all the time.
The key action is very nice with smooth operation and touch sensitivity. It seems to be solidly built and should last years if properly looked after. I am very pleased with it.
An added bonus is that it is possible to layer three sounds in the upper register whereas most entry level keyboards are limited to two. This makes for a fuller.richer sound. The keyboard has 20 watts of amplification which makes it more than loud enough for home and intimate gig use without additional amplification.
