As a logical evolution of the HX Stomp, Line 6 is launching the Line 6 HX Stomp XL, a compact, all-round solution for modern guitar sounds. This amplifier and effects processor for electric guitar offers an enormous variety of potential guitar sounds, with over 300 amp, speaker and effects models, and expands on the classic compact chassis design with eight capacitive touch footswitches. For professional applications, the HX Stomp XL also offers a wide range of connection and routing options, enabling it to function as a master controller, super stompbox or audio interface at any time, both in the studio and on stage.
At the heart of every sound in the HX Stomp XL are extremely detailed simulations of over 300 famous amplifiers, speaker cabinets and effects, which can even be easily expanded using third-party impulse responses. Thanks to its powerful SHARC DSP chip – familiar from the Helix – the Line 6 HX Stomp XL offers up to eight simultaneously usable effects blocks with first-class sound quality and no noticeable latency, even with more extensive effects set-ups.
To make operating the Line 6 HX Stomp XL as ‘hands-free’ as possible, this powerful modeller features a total of eight capacitive touch footswitches for easily calling up presets and individual effect blocks. All footswitches feature colour-coded ring-shaped LEDs that make the functions of each footswitch easily recognisable even on the darkest stages. As all effect blocks can be easily accessed by foot, the HX Stomp XL can also be used without any problems as a ‘super stompbox’.
The HX Stomp XL’s extensive connectivity and routing options prove that it is ideally equipped for professional applications of all kinds. For seamless integration into existing effects set-ups and for expansion with external pedals, the floor modeller features parallel signal paths and a stereo effects loop, whilst connection options for footswitches, expression pedals and MIDI allow for the control of internal functions and effects. There is also a USB port on board, which allows the HX Stomp XL to function seamlessly as a professional audio interface.
