The Midas 502 V2 is an award-winning premium microphone amplifier with a classic XL4 filter and the sound characteristics you have come to expect from Midas.

Studio-grade sound quality

A special feature of this Preamps is its remarkable level stability, which transmits peaks of up to 24dBu undistorted, with a simultaneously enormous gain reserve of 80dB, which can safely boost even low-level microphones such as the SM7B, the RE20 or ribbon microphones to line level. This multi-functionality naturally comes from Midas' home waters, namely live operation, but also benefits the technician in the recording studio, especially if several racks with Preamps cannot be purchased for reasons of space or cost. The 502 V2 also delivers studio-grade sound quality, which is characterized by a pragmatic Mix of sound fidelity and almost audiophile refinement.

Exactly the functions you need

The Midas 502 V2 also has switchable filters, which are designed in exactly the same way as those in the Midas XL4 console. With their help, the material can be trimmed during recording so that unneeded or even disturbing frequencies do not even end up on the raw recording. This approach is supported by the very wide adjustment range of the two filters. The phantom power and phase inversion functions that are mandatory for a proper preamplifier are of course also included and are supplemented here by a switchable split function (TX).
