Construction-wise, the five-string features a body made of selected hardwood and a five-piece bolted neck made of roasted maple, while the sculpted neck joint and slim neck profile create optimal playing conditions. The powerful Music Man Standard neodymium humbucker with 3-band tone control provides furthermore a detailed and variable sound representation, whereby even the low B-string is perfectly reproduced. Last but not least, the StingRay 5 Special bass guitar features Music Man Custom Lightweight bass machine heads and a Music Man Vintage top-load bridge that were specially developed for this model.

Accordingly, the bass guitar features a body made of carefully selected hardwood and an extremely stable neck made of roasted maple, whose ebony fingerboard carries 22 stainless steel frets in the "High Profile, Wide" format. With the optimized lines of the body, the bass furthermore lies comfortably on the body, while the C-neck profile in wax-oil finish makes every groove go easily from the fingers.
Music Man neodymium humbucker and 3-band tone control
The electrical sound conversion of the StingRay 5 Special EB Raspberry Burst takes over a Music Man standard neodymium humbucker specially developed for this model, whose powerful magnets guarantee a powerful and defined output of all strings. Via the 3-way blade switch the coils of the humbucker can be called up in three combinations. The parallel connection delivers the typical StingRay sound with tight bass foundation and brilliant highs, while the serial mode provides an extremely powerful sound with high assertiveness. Also available is a filtered series circuit that delivers a lean tone with single-coil character. Via the active 3-band tone control, which has an enormous headroom thanks to 18 volts supply, the sound can be adjusted furthermore precisely.
Lightweight hardware equipment
Last but not least, the StingRay 5 Special EB Raspberry Burst from Music Man impresses with its perfectly matched hardware equipment. The headstock is equipped with Music Man Custom Lightweight tun ers in the typical "4+1" arrangement, which guarantee precise tuning and counteract head heaviness by using lightweight materials. The body is also equipped with the Music Man Vintage Top-Load bridge made of steel, whose mass supports the sound development and sustain of the five-string.
