Novation celebrates the tenth anniversary of the popular Launchpad series and hereby presents the latest
Launchpad X delivers more direct control than ever before. The 64 velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads Novation's most expressive grid yet, while the drum and note modes allow automatic switching between percussive and melodic instruments. The dedicated Record button can effortlessly wind up the sound in the process.
Furthermore, four user-defined modes (in combination with the free "Components" app) are available, with the help of which MIDI data can be configured. In short. The device becomes a versatile controller hub for the entire studio.

Solid build quality, pads and operation. 4x Custom modes and components expand the possibilities even further, not just an essential controller for live. I upgraded from a mk1. Can’t be beaten for the price.
It’s was a good piece of hardware that really was simple to use and saved a lot of time. There was more time to get on with the creative side and was not bogged down with slot of technical issues.
Yesterday in the night i finally had time to try the Launchpad X (no internet at home!), but i only could get it lights flickering on plugin it in. I was a bit dissappointed.
Later i took it to my workplace with internet and found a solution for that. You have really push the USBC connector a lot into the Launchpad X, otherwise i wont be recognized and proper connects to windows. Was really happy it finally worked.
(Would be nice if Novation had mentioned this somewhere - i mean its a new product, you dont want to break something and therefore be very careful plugin the USB cable in)
Having this out of the way, the Launchpad X connected w/o anything else and it was also quickly recognized by Live 11 and ready to be used.
Anyway, otherwise i love the pads, they feel very good and its a very cool way to play synths, drums, etc. And its always very portable, i mean the mini version is smaller, but does have no velocity sensitivity and not aftertouch. So i decided for the X version.
The software you get is really entensive: One piano from XLN Audio, Live Lite (not that already have 5 licenses), AAS Session Bundle, Tutorials. etc
Very happy decided for this version.
