Transparent Overdrive by Paul Reed Smith
With the PRS Horsemeat, Paul Reed Smith presents his personal interpretation of the ideal Transparent Overdrive, which elevates the sound to a new Level without distorting the character of the electric guitar. The fully analogue circuitry of the overdrive pedal is built with germanium diodes and high-quality full-size components in a complex through-hole assembly to provide absolute fidelity and a direct feel. Precisely adjustable via the straightforward knob layout, the PRS Horsemeat is suitable not only as a top-class stand-alone overdrive but also as Booster before an already distorting amplifier.
Analogue circuitry with flexible adjustment options
The fully analogue circuitry of the PRS Horsemeat impresses with a transparent and unadulterated output of the instrument's character and enormous tonal flexibility. Thus, the pedal built in the USA can be used not only as a stand-alone drive in front of a clean amp but also for stacking with other gain pedals or an already distorted amp. In addition to the gain control, whose wide control range extends from nearly clean sounds to surprisingly juicy Distortion, the Horsemeat offers voice control for the basic sound character. While a particularly rich sound is available when the Voice pot is turned to the left, the mids and highs are emphasized as you turn it up. In addition, the guitar pedal offers an active 2-band tone control for precise adjustment of the tone in bass and treble.
