Introducing Hermod+

The Squarp Instruments Hermod+ at a glance

The Hermod+ from Squarp Instruments is the logical evolution of its popular predecessor, the Hermod. This is the standalone Eurorack version of the extraordinary pyramid sequencer. Primarily Hermod+ is a multitrack Eurorack sequen cer with eight CV/Gate tracks and eight MIDI tracks. The sequencer allows realtime recording or step-by-step, which is done very clearly thanks to the 16 white pads. A modulation matrix, which accepts the four CV inputs (A-D) and various MIDI values as source, provides a lot of variety in the sequencer and the individual tracks. The destinations in the matrix can be routed to CV, Gate and MIDI events in a variety of ways.

Complex patterns thanks to dynamics effects

The dynamics effects free played notes, triggers and even MIDI CCs from the rigidity of themselves and allow variations beyond what was originally programmed. Of the fourteen dynamics effects, which are individually assignable per track, eight can be used simultaneously and turned on and off in real time as needed: Arpeggiator, Chance, Delay, Envelope, Euclid, Filter, LFO, Glide, Harmonizer, To Note, Random, Ratchet, Scale, Swing.

Connection-friendly

The eight CV/Gate tracks also represent the maximum number of tracks with control voltage. In addition, these are configurable for polyphonic play including unison and various control tasks such as velocity, Aftertouch or CV effects. Clock and Reset outputs allow the integration of further synchronizable Module like effects, Clock divider and sequencer. Another eight tracks are dedicated to MIDI Trax alone, these are played via MIDI Out and USB. At the same time Hermod+ is a comprehensive MIDI/USB to CV/Gate interface and can take over further tasks as USB host.

The + version

The plus of the Hermod+ is to be understood in an additive way. The razor-sharp Display is larger than before, instead of the 8 pads there are now 16 which also reduces the jumping in the Display, the tracks are directly selectable via buttons and MIDI is now output and received via TRS adapter. In addition, the connections and clock and reset outputs have been added.
