The Sonnet xMac mini (2024+) module expands compatible Sonnet desktop and rackmount enclosures to accommodate one or two Apple Mac mini (2024+) units. The sturdy steel construction securely integrates the computers into a modular system, making them suitable for everyday studio use, mobile rack applications or permanently installed production environments. At the same time, all key connections remain easily accessible at all times.

Direct access without detours

In day-to-day use, every minute counts. That’s why the xMac mini (2024+) module features front-facing on/off switches that reliably operate the Mac minis’ bottom-mounted buttons. A USB-C port on the front connects to the rear of the Mac mini, whilst a practical cable grommet allows further devices to be connected directly via the front. The computers’ rear ports also remain fully accessible.

Well-thought-out design for continuous operation

The design supports the Mac mini’s natural airflow, allowing fresh air to be drawn in unhindered and warm air to be expelled at the rear. This ensures the computers operate reliably under optimal conditions, even when mounted in a rack. An integrated power hub supplies one or two Mac minis via a single power cable, ensuring a tidy installation.

More space for your setup

Beneath the Mac minis, the module offers additional space for up to two external Thunderbolt or USB SSDs. This allows high-speed storage solutions to be housed directly within the enclosure, without requiring additional space in the rack or on the desk. The robust steel construction with rubber-mounted brackets reliably protects the installed computers during transport and in daily use.

Flexible within the Sonnet system

The xMac mini (2024+) module is part of the modular Sonnet System and can be combined with various desktop and rackmount enclosures. For example, when used in conjunction with the Echo II DV rackmount, either an expansion card can be assigned to each Mac mini, or both cards can be operated via separate Thunderbolt ports on a single Mac mini. This makes the module suitable for a wide variety of production environments, from recording studios to mobile production racks.
