The Sterling by Music Man John Petrucci MAJ170 Majesty Siberian Sapphire is the seven string signature guitar of the Dream Theater guitarist and delivers an innovative design with unrestricted playability and powerful, versatile sounds. The ergonomic body shape and the free standing neck with a D profile ensure effortless access to every position on the fingerboard, while hot humbuckers and a switchable 12 dB boost provide massive punch at the amplifier. The Sterling Majesty 7 is completed by an SBMM Modern Tremolo and SBMM locking tuners.
The innovative design of the Sterling Majesty 7 was developed in close cooperation with John Petrucci and convinces with an incomparably high playability for advanced playing techniques of progressive metal. The mahogany body is not only extremely stable when sitting on the thigh, but also takes a perfectly balanced position on the strap. The wide cutaways also expose the entire mahogany neck for unobstructed access to the high registers of the rosewood fingerboard. The wide D-profile and flat 16" (406 mm) fingerboard radius also make every riff and solo come out of the fingers with ease.
As a John Petrucci signature electric guitar, the Sterling by Music Man JP170 Majesty naturally delivers aggressive metal tones, while also revealing a refined and articulate character on clean settings. The Sterling by Music Man 7-string humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions offer a carefully balanced output and harmonically rich response. Lead lines sustain smoothly, riffs remain tight and focused, and clean chords benefit from excellent string separation. In addition, the SBMM Majesty 7 features an active boost that can be engaged via the push pull volume control, increasing the signal by 12 dB for extra volume and gain when needed.
Sterling by Music Man also equips the John Petrucci MAJ170 Majesty Siberian Sapphire with high quality hardware designed for maximum reliability and playing comfort. The SBMM Modern Tremolo is mounted on two posts and offers an exceptionally smooth feel. Thanks to its construction, both upward and downward pitch bends are easily achievable, while six individually adjustable saddles ensure precise intonation and a comfortable string setup, even with heavier gauges and low tunings. From the bridge, the strings run across the classic 25.5" scale length toward the headstock, where SBMM locking tuners in the familiar 5 plus 2 layout guarantee stable tuning, even with frequent use of the tremolo system.

Very light and plays like a charm, it's the ideal guitar for someone who wants to invest in a better model than the 500 euros model he already has.
However, it might feel a little bit overpriced sometimes given what other 1000+ guitars can do . I suppose we can blame European taxes on this one since it's more about 700 USD overseas. It's also as far as it can be from it's big sister the Majesty, which is, given the price, a little bit of a bummer.
However, it's still a great instrument. A little bit overpriced but very enjoyable (as long as you bother to change the pick up)
