The Strymon Lex V2 Rotary is designed to authentically recreate the iconic sound of classic vintage rotary speakers. This sophisticated effects pedal captures every subtle detail, from the rotor’s start-up speed to the distinctive drive of the preamp and the microphone’s distance and position on the speaker. With a range of versatile features, the Strymon Lex V2 is compatible with various instruments and perfectly suited for studio recordings as well as live performances.
Classic Rotary Controls
The Strymon Lex V2 offers precise control over the simulated rotary speaker with its Speed control, allowing you to set the rotation speed. You can customize two separate speed settings that switch easily via the Slow/Fast switch and toggle between them anytime with your foot. The Ramp switch adjusts the transition time between speeds for smooth changes. Additional controls include a Horn Level knob to adjust the treble horn volume and a Preamp Drive control that shapes the simulated tube preamp tone – turning it up adds warm, organic tube drive for richer sound.
Professional microphone simulation
To enhance the Lex V2’s sonic versatility, it offers extensive microphone placement options. The Mic Switch lets you choose between two microphone positions: placing it in front of the speaker for an open, direct sound, or using Rear Mode to simulate miking from behind, producing a warm, bass-rich tone. Additionally, the Mic Distance control adjusts the microphone’s proximity to the cabinet, allowing you to find the perfect balance between direct cabinet sound and rich, ambient three-dimensional space.
Connections for stage, rehearsal room & studio
The Strymon Lex V2 features a wide range of front-panel connectivity options designed for maximum versatility. It includes a switchable mono and stereo input and separate left and right outputs for stereo setups. The combined EXP/MIDI jack supports expression pedals, footswitches, and MIDI devices, while a USB port provides additional MIDI control and enables easy firmware updates.
