Four decades of drum sound in one package

With the Drumology EZX extension for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3, you get four carefully selected drum kits, each representing a clearly defined sound of an entire era. Session drummer Jeremy Stacey has dug deep into his own collection and selected kits that authentically reflect the character of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The result is a direct access to the most diverse sound aesthetics, from dry and compact to open and massive.

Four kits, four worlds of sound

Each kit tells its own story. The 60s deliver warm, round sounds with controlled dynamics. The 70s open up the sound and bring in more air and musical depth. In the 80s, it gets big, loud and present, exactly what you know from classic stadium productions. The 90s are more raw again, more direct, edgier, with more attack.

This clear separation makes the Library particularly interesting for productions where the sound should not be interchangeable, but rather deliberately chosen.

Recording with a concept

The recordings were made at Livingston Studios in London, a location with a strong history and acoustics that capture drums very honestly. Jeremy Stacey worked closely with his brother Paul, who as a producer and engineer knows exactly how to capture such kits.

For each Set, the right outboard and typical microphones were used. You can hear that immediately. The kits don't feel like modern samples with retro filters, but like real snapshots of their time.

Mix-ready presets and flexible control

In addition to the raw kits, you get a wide selection of presets that work directly in Mix. Different approaches, different sound directions, all immediately playable. If you want to intervene more deeply, you can use the integrated macros to fine-tune individual elements, from volume ratios to saturation and effects.

If you prefer to mix externally, simply use the more neutral presets and route the individual signals into the DAW.

MIDI grooves with a musical focus

The included MIDI grooves were also created by Jeremy Stacey and are clearly oriented towards the respective decades. This is not generic content, but feels musically coherent and provides direct ideas for your own tracks.

For modern productions with vintage aspirations

Drumology EZX is aimed at pop, rock, fusion or grunge productions in which the drum sound needs to make a clear statement. Instead of endless options, you get a deliberately curated selection with character.
