The Yamaha APX 600 M NS matte
For a versatile acoustic sound, Yamaha relies on a laminated nato body for this model, which produces a round, warm tone with present mids and a quick response. Meanwhile, the laminated spruce top adds clear nuances with brilliant highs that contribute to a distinctly balanced overall sound.
The innovative Forward-Shifted-X bracing, whose slats are located a few millimeters closer to the sound hole, favors improved vibration behavior for tonal assertiveness. Due to the increased surface area, a higher sound volume with strong basses is created for a full sound with which musicians can take the stage landscape by storm.
In terms of playability, the model also scores big across the board. The practical APX Thinline body fits ergonomically and gives plenty of freedom of movement, while the cutaway allows unobstructed access to the higher registers. At the same time, the easy-grip Tone-Wood neck with rosewood fingerboard and 43-mm nut width sits well in the hand and lets the picking hand glide easily and smoothly over the 22 frets. In addition, the shortened scale length of 634 mm and a flat neck profile reduce the effort required for picking, which is especially beneficial for inexperienced guitarists.
The perfect stage performance is ensured by the in-house SRT System 65 with SRT piezo pickup, which knows how to convince with a decidedly natural amplified sound. A volume control and a three-band equalizer allow for individual adjustment of volume, bass, midrange and treble, so that the amplified sound can be effortlessly adapted to the ambient conditions and personal preferences. The pickup system is rounded off by an integrated tuner for constant sound reliability.
